This armchair is an icon of interwar Czechoslovak design from the 1930s. Conceived by the designer Jindřich Halabala, this design sits on the borderline of Art Deco and emerging functionalism. Manufactured by the renowned UP Závody, the chair represents a revolutionary approach to wood bending and an elegance that remains incredibly modern even after nearly a century.

The most striking feature of the chair is its dynamically shaped armrests and frame made of solid bentwood beech, which flow seamlessly from the front legs up to the back support. During the comprehensive restoration, the original wood polish was sensitively revived, restoring the material's depth, warm tone, and silky luster.

The armchair has undergone a complete upholstery overhaul, receiving new professional spring upholstery crafted according to traditional period methods. A premium cover fabric featuring a subtle textured pattern was selected, harmonizing beautifully with the flowing lines of the wood. This meticulously restored piece offers exceptional seating comfort and stands as a high-value collector's and investment item, perfect for both modern and classic interiors.
