This desk is an extraordinary collectors piece that combines the influences of the French avant-garde with the precision of Czechoslovak manufacturing. It is an atypical and rarely seen model designed by the prominent French modernist architect André Lurçat and produced by the renowned domestic company KOVONA in the 1920s. This desk is a perfect example of Bauhaus principles, where industrial aesthetics meet high functionality and luxurious materials.

The item has undergone extensive restoration. Its foundation is a construction made of chrome-plated tubular steel, which has been professionally cleaned and polished to a high luster. The writing surface and the drawer unit are made of high-quality blockboard veneered in walnut. This combination of "cool" modern metal and "warm" noble wood is characteristic of Lurçat work. The original wood polish has been sensitively refreshed, fully restoring the depth of the walnut grain and the authentic appearance of this unique piece of furniture.
