This iconic pendant, familiarly nicknamed UFO, is one of the most prominent lighting fixtures of Czechoslovak functionalism and Bauhaus design from the 1930s. The renowned architect and designer Josef Hurka created this timeless design. His work for the Napako company defined the modern look of interwar lighting. The pendant stands out for its aerodynamic form and purity of design, which remains very modern even after almost a hundred years.
The item underwent professional restoration, returning it to its original luster. The chrome plated steel construction was professionally cleaned and complemented by a characteristic milk glass shade, providing diffused and glare free light. As part of the renovation, new electrical wiring was installed, making the chandelier ready for immediate installation and safe operation. This is a highly valued collector piece that forms a stylish centerpiece for any functionalist interior.
