The frame in the middle of the upper part (above the dial) is a miniature diorama / scene: This is a small decorative showcase, where small three-dimensional decorations (flowers, leaves, bushes) are placed, often made of a piece of shell, wax, silk or colored paper. This element serves as a distraction and is a typical decorative element of the Empire, which emphasized domestic and emotional values. As well as the golden lion figures on the upper cornice (a symbol of strength and power) and the gilded lyre hanging below the clock face, or the Corinthian capitals - decorative column capitals.
