This armchair is an iconic representative of Czechoslovak interwar design, designed by one of the most prominent architects of the era, Jindřich Halabala, for the renowned UP Závody. Dating back to the 1920s, the early Art Deco period, it showcases the merging of traditional quality with the modern, dynamic shapes that began to define Czechoslovak furniture making. Halabala’s signature is evident in the perfect ergonomics and elegance that foreshadowed modern living.

The armchair is in an exceptionally rare original condition, adding high collector and historical value. The solid beech construction demonstrates the stability and craftsmanship typical of UP Závody. The uniqueness of this piece is further highlighted by its original, preserved upholstery, which has not been replaced—the fabric has only been professionally cleaned to maintain its authentic texture and coloration. This is a genuine piece of history, bringing the true atmosphere of the First Republic into any interior.
