This armchair is a prime example of Czechoslovak Art Deco from the 1920s. During this period, furniture design shifted away from Art Nouveau ornamentation toward more monumental, geometrically clean forms that retained their luxurious essence. The chair stands out with its robust and comfortable shape, typical of the high-end salon interiors of the First Republic.
The piece has undergone professional restoration of its wooden components. The solid beech frame is veneered in noble walnut, whose rich grain serves as the primary decorative element. The original polish has been sensitively refreshed, restoring the woods natural depth and silky luster. A remarkable aspect of this piece is the condition of the upholstery: the chair features a very well-preserved, firm spring core and its original upholstery fabric, which has been professionally machine-cleaned. This authentic textile carries an irreplaceable period character and testifies to the high quality of materials and the careful maintenance by its previous owners.
