This luxurious dressing table with a mirror is an extraordinary piece of Central European Art Deco from the early 20th century. Its author is the world famous architect and designer Josef Hoffmann. He was a founding member of the Wiener Werkstätte and a native of Brtnice in Bohemia. The signature of Hoffmann is evident here in the perfect geometric harmony and the transition from decorative Art Nouveau to clean modernism. This furniture represents the peak of luxury equipment for bourgeois interiors of that time.

The dressing table consists of solid oak veneered with rare rosewood. The dark and rich grain of the rosewood adds importance to the whole piece. The design features strict straight lines that end in Empire style decorative bronze column capitals. A completely unique element is the unprecedented size of the mirror, which visually enlarges the space and gives the table a monumental character. The item underwent professional restoration, during which the original wood polish was refreshed.
