This elegant writing desk is a premier example of Bauhaus functionalist design, dating back to 1930s Czechoslovakia. It was manufactured in the renowned Robert Slezák factory, one of the most significant producers of tubular steel furniture in Europe at the time. The frame is made of tubular chrome-plated steel, which has been professionally cleaned during restoration to regain its mirror-like luster and modern industrial character.

The wooden components are crafted from high-quality blockboard veneered in oak. The combination of oak wood and cool chrome creates a timeless aesthetic contrast, highly characteristic of the interwar avant-garde. During expert restoration, the original wood polish was sensitively revived, highlighting the deep and noble grain of the oak veneer. The desk is fully functional, with smooth-sliding drawers and a sturdy frame, ready for immediate use in a prestigious office or home studio.
