This luxurious armchair from the early 20th century embodies a unique blend of Cubism and Art Deco, characteristic of Pavel Janák’s work during his tenure at the Prague Art Workshops (PUD) in Prague. Crafted from solid oak and exotic Macassar veneer, the armchair exudes exceptional character and craftsmanship. Its design is notably influenced by the work of the renowned French designer Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann.

Originally created as an exhibition piece, the armchair remains in outstanding condition. The original upholstery is pristine and virtually unused. This piece not only serves as a stunning decorative element but also carries the legacy of prominent architects and designers like Pavel Janák and Josef Gočár, who collaborated on interiors for architectural projects at PUD.
