This exceptional Cubist chandelier represents a fascinating synthesis of dynamic Cubism and the emerging decorativeness of the Art Deco style. The lighting fixture dates back to the 1920s and was manufactured in Czechoslovakia, where these two influences merged into a unique national style. The entire structure is crafted from brass, characterized by strictly angled edges and a distinct geometric design. As part of professional restoration, the metal has been professionally cleaned to highlight its natural golden luster and the sharpness of the Cubist lines.
The central element of the chandelier is a lampshade made of opal glass, whose white, matte surface creates a soft and pleasantly diffused light within the interior without unwanted glare. The glass parts shape perfectly corresponds with the architectural concept of the brass frame. The chandelier has undergone a complete renovation, including new wiring, ensuring absolute safety and reliability. This piece is not only a functional light source but, above all, a striking artistic object that will lend any space the unique character of the interwar era.
