This elegant antique commode, functioning as a small cabinet, is an excellent example of middle-class furniture from the first half of the 19th century. Originating from Bohemia, this piece represents an era that placed great emphasis on precise craftsmanship and the natural beauty of materials. The surface is finished with premium cherry veneer, characterized by its typical warm tones and delicate grain, which lends the entire object a noble appearance.

As part of a comprehensive restoration, the original wood polish was sensitively revived, allowing the surface to regain its depth and silky luster without compromising its historical patina. The exceptional value of this piece is highlighted by the fact that everything is original, including the hardware and a completely unique center-door lock, which is a rare detail for furniture from this period.

The cabinet is characterized by an exceptionally stable construction and remains fully functional even after nearly two centuries. The upper drawer and lower two-door compartment offer practical storage, while the clean lines and high-quality cherry wood make this commode a timeless centerpiece suitable for both modern and classically styled interiors.
