These table clocks represent the refined taste and craftsmanship of Czechoslovakia during the 1920s. The design follows the popular Art Deco style. This movement focused on geometric harmony and the combination of fine materials. The body of the clock consists of wood veneered with walnut. The bold texture of the walnut veneer with deep color transitions provides the clock with a dignified and luxurious character typical for the interwar period.
The main feature of the front side is a brass dial which is safely placed under clear glass. The golden shine of the brass in combination with the dark wood creates a classic contrast that never goes out of fashion. Inside the clock is the original movement. This fact increases the historical value of the item. The clock remains in its original preserved condition. This means the piece retains its authentic patina and character. This item is an ideal accessory for collectors of horology or fans of First Republic design.
