Originating from early 19th-century Austria, it embodies the aristocratic taste of the Napoleonic era. The foundation is a solid spruce frame, which is precisely veneered in walnut. The striking grain of the walnut wood lends the object depth and nobility.

The extraordinary decorative value is enhanced by carved gilded moldings that line both the inner and outer perimeters of the frame. These delicate details, combined with the dark wood, create a contrast highly characteristic of Austrian Empire furniture. A very valuable feature is the original mirror plate, which is finished with a bevel (fazet).
