This cabinet is an exceptional collectors piece from 1940s Czechoslovakia, bearing the unmistakable signature of architect Jindřich Halabala. It was manufactured by the renowned UP Závody, which during this period masterfully combined the echoes of luxurious Art Deco with emerging modern functionality. The cabinet stands out with its decorative refinement, making it a dominant solitaire for any interior.

The item has been preserved in its original, very well-maintained condition. The most striking feature is the checkerboard marquetry, alternating light maple veneer with deep mahogany tones, creating an impressive geometric contrast. The original polish has been sensitively refreshed to highlight the natural beauty of both wood types. Its luxurious character is enhanced by the top surface made of original black glass, which remains in very good condition and adds a mirrored depth to the piece. The cabinet is fully functional and represents an investment piece where maximum authenticity was the priority.
