Architectural symbolism "Staircase": In the Empire, these clocks were conceived as miniature antique temples (portals).

Stairs: The base of the clock is formed by several steps that lead "inside" the temple.

Mirror: A mirror is placed on the back wall behind the columns, which optically doubles the number of columns and creates the illusion of an endless hall.
